 Bukit Peninsula, Bali
Bukit Peninsula also called Semenanjung Bukit, is the headland at the southern end of Bali. The name means "hill peninsula". Unlike the rest of Bali, Bukit Peninsula is arid and stoney. At the eastern and southern coasts, the terrain makes a precipitous drop to the churning ocean below.

The proximity of Bukit Peninsula to the Ngurah Rai International Airport makes it a choice area for tourist-related development. The eastern part of the peninsula is now the home for the upscale resort development of Nusa Dua.
Jimbaran is on the northern part of Bukit Peninsula. At the center of Bukit Peninsula is a cultural park that has attracted undue attention and controversy, the Garuda Wisnu Kencana. On the eastern tip of Bukit Peninsula is Pura Luhur Uluwatu, one of the most sacred and stunningly breathtaking sea temples in Bali.
